01.11.2008: Symfony Workshop in Cherkassy

Life is an infinite improvement. To consider oneself perfect—it means to kill oneself. (Friedrich Hebbel)

Yes, yes, yes—we thought—he is right! To learn, to learn and to learn one more time! Said—done! We—Vladimir Luniov and Oleg Makarov—armed with Friedrich Hebbel's wisdom, got Heaven's support of beautiful autumn weather and went to Framework Symfony Workshop in the nice Ukrainian city Cherkassy.

Preliminary preparation didn't take a lot of time and we got on a seven-hour train Kharkov-Kiev. We didn't waste any time and worked until our laptops were discharged. When our laptops were discharged fully, we understood that it was time to sleep.

We didn't have time to have a walk in the Ukrainian capital and immediately got on the regular bus Kiev-Cherkassy. Two hours later we arrived in Cherkassy and we were surprised that there were no buildings higher than five floors, but we liked Cherkassy very much. It was so interesting to walk along the ancient streets and understand that this is the place where the history of our country was made.

The workshop was very natural. Guests arrived from all parts of our country—Kharkov, Sumy, Lvov and other cities. At first, the company representative Roman Movchan conducted an introductory lecture about Symfony Framework then about internationalization, engine and other interesting things. A short coffee break made us full of energy—we always know that coffee, juice and sandwiches are very useful for creativity ;-). We discussed a lot of interesting questions—some of them were solved onsite and some were taken away (they will be information for future thoughts).

We were tired and satisfied as we got on the bus that left for Kiev. We had a few hours until the Kharkov train, so we were able to admire the capital, take photos and walk along Kreschatik street and see Podol-place. It was the perfect ending of such an interesting and full day.
