The Challenge
"LeFigaro" is one of the largest French publishing companies. Processing of accounting documentation and reporting to internal departments and external institutions were made by paper work and excel files. Enormous amount of information and complex calculations took significant efforts and time. Existing standard systems didn't cover all aspects of process. The main aim was creation of custom automatic and easy-to-use system which makes audit of output amount and generates accounting documentation.
The Solution
AlarSoft was provided with documentation, that described existing information and production flows and desired structure of final reports. Assigned french-speaking Client Coordinator made a translation of received information. Number of meetings were held by AlarSoft Project Manager, Client Coordinator and Figaro Project Manager. As result all required technical documentation appeared in 3 version (french, english and russian): software requirements specification, detailed description of required accounting calculations and project planning.
Result
On-line accounting system "Figaro" has very simple interface. The main system modules are:
- Data import
- Processing
- Reporting
- Data export
- Simulation
- Archiving
System imports a few compound files, then processing take place. Processing is the most sizable module in terms of spent man-hours. Received data and supplemental information are composed into a number of reports for company internal departments. Data export module generates reports for accounting systems of external institutions in a few file formats (csv, pdf etc.)Simulation allows to use pseudo-data in order to test different marketing strategies and forecast financial situation. Archiving module is used as file storage, which allows to track input data.
