The Challenge
Development of a new social community site for football fans on the threshold of Euro 2008 with ability to adapt the site for subsequent championships.
Result
AlarSoft created all required technical documentation and set up a team.
Main modules:
- Social networking
- News tracker. Aggregation of news feed from sites with outcoming RSS. Ability to add new sites for aggregation via admin panel. News feed is displayed using javascript animation. User has ability to vote for news that s/he like.
- Forecasting. Users post their prediction of matches' results. After match is over administrator enter real results of match via admin panel.
- Virtual game. AJAX-based "Fantasy football " game.
The web application was launched and delivered as one of the most innovative and powerful multimedia, news and social portals.
Footrepublic was distributed among different parts depending on the part purpose; basic web servers media storages, upload servers, servers for static content, database servers.
Daily web application load is about 12000-17000 users per day.
